Sam Buckett is a mystery that has still not been solved.

Sam Buckett was a scientist who was already researching the possibility of manned space travel in the 1920s.
He presented his research several times to senior US government officials, but was dismissed as an irrational crank, ignored by the government and ridiculed by colleagues.
However, he researched his vision in secret laboratories in deep caves in the state of Rhode Island. A few confidants helped him with his research. Over the years, the small team developed various methods of possible manned space travel and finally set about building a spaceship called Quasar.
With ectoplasm on board as food and the iron will to discover new galaxies, his trail is lost after the successful launch in March 1929.
His few loyal colleagues kept quiet about the research and took the secret of Sam Buckett to their graves.
Sam Buckett was forgotten and no one living on earth knows his story. It remained secret and locked away and nobody learnt about his research and what became of him.
